What Your Car's Lights Are Trying to Tell You

Dashboard warning lights follow a simple colour code. Knowing it can save you money, and occasionally a breakdown.

Red means stop, amber means soon

A red light, such as oil pressure or brake warnings, means pull over safely and investigate. An amber light usually means book a check soon.

Green and blue lights are information only: headlights on, cruise control active or a mode change. Nothing to worry about.
