How to Choose the Right Car for Your First Long Drive
A car that feels great on a test drive around town can feel very different after six hours on the motorway. These are the things that make the biggest difference on a long trip.
Comfort comes first
Look for supportive seats with adjustable lumbar support, a quiet cabin at motorway speeds and adaptive cruise control to take the strain out of long stretches.
Range matters too. For an electric car, aim for a real-world range comfortably above the longest leg you plan to drive, and check how quickly it charges from 10 to 80%.

Finally, be honest about luggage. A boot that swallows two suitcases and a few soft bags will make the whole trip easier.
Try before you go
Book a longer test drive and include a stretch of motorway. Our showrooms offer extended drives on request.
