Living With an Electric Car: The First Year
Twelve months and 18,000 km after switching to electric, here's an honest look at what daily life with an EV is really like.
Charging becomes a habit
Most charging happens at home overnight. Within a few weeks, plugging in feels like charging your phone: something you just do, not something you plan.
Long trips take a little more planning, but modern fast chargers add hundreds of kilometres in the time it takes to grab a coffee.

Running costs were the biggest surprise. Fewer moving parts mean fewer services, and home charging costs a fraction of fuel.
Would we go back?
No. The quiet, the instant response and the lower running costs have made petrol feel like a step backwards.
